Old Blind Dogs

Grab your finest Dancin' Shoes and All your Celtic Cheer !

For the Old Blind Dogs are descending into Honolulu "a Jiggin' & a Reelin'" for one exuberant Celtic Celebration. The well-seasoned band provides a full offering of delights - from raucous reels to soulful ballads.

Their ballads transport listeners to the rolling hills of Scotland thanks to the captivating baritone of Jim Malcolm, often heralded as the "Voice of Scotland". But the prowess of Malcolm's voice is only half of the reason why fans so appreciate the Old Blind Dogs' ballads. Many concert goers love the ballads simply because they provide a critical break from the relentless dance tunes that the Dogs love to unleash. "More than anything, we like it when people let their hair down and get up and dance," Malcolm stated in a recent interview. And dance they do !

When the whistling notes of Rory Campbell's bagpipe combine with Jon Hardie's feisty fiddle and Fraser Stone's heart-pumping percussion, dance floors explode in blazing motion. Audiences can't help but jump into feverish jigs. As proclaimed by 'The Scotsman', "The Old Blind Dogs play with a compelling energy and intoxicating rhythm as players and audience seem to share a wild ecstasy of emotion."

Outstanding Venue: Performance takes place at the beautiful, grass-filled amphitheater in Kaka'ako Waterfront Park (where Cooke St. meets the ocean). A perfect setting for a festive Celtic Celebration. Adding to the perfection will be a host of reasonably priced beverages, including $3.00 Killian's Irish Red bottles.

The Cheer will be Mighty & the Dance will be Strong !!!

FREE Solo Show: Jim Malcolm (OBD's Lead Singer/Guitarist), heralded as the "Voice of Scotland", graces Honolulu with a solo performance at O'Toole's Irish Pub (902 Nu'uanu Ave. - 536-4138). Thursday, Sept. 16th - 8:30pm & 10pm. No Cover ! Slainte !!!
